Label printing has been implemented in the Aiken WorkBench as a distributed service that can use any label printer available, either PC attached, LAN attached or wireless.
The Printer Agent is the interface between the Aiken WorkBench and the OS printing subsystem, and runs unattended on the Linux server or on any Windows computer. Up to 25 printing sessions can be defined on the Printer Agent. For every session, we can specify which printer and label format we want to use, and also if we want to print a label for all the units or only for the ones added by a specific user or belonging to a specific lot.
The primary purpose of the Printer Agent is label printing, but it can also be used to print documents of any kind. For example, erasure certificates can be printed automatically as soon as the operation has been completed and the audit has been saved.
